Behind the result - No mystery in the method
We normalize each name to NFC and lowercase, then keep only Unicode letters and digits. Spaces, punctuation and emoji are ignored. We make a set of distinct characters for each name. Repeated letters count once.
The letter-overlap score is round(100 × shared distinct characters ÷ all distinct characters across both names). The result lists the shared characters, the two set sizes and the combined set size. A name must contain at least one letter or digit. This describes spelling overlap, not people, personality or romantic fit.
Blank optional fields are omitted from the result and download. Entered text is displayed literally, not interpreted as HTML. All calculations happen in your browser. This tool does not store names or answers, measure real love or compatibility, assess relationship quality, or give psychological or relationship advice.

Why is this different from the Love Percentage Calculator?
This tool uses a visible distinct-character overlap ratio. The percentage calculator uses an arbitrary text hash. Neither measures real compatibility.
Do accents and other writing systems work?
Unicode letters and digits are accepted, including non-Latin scripts. Accents are preserved: “e” and “é” are different characters. This is a character game, not a linguistic or cultural assessment.
Can I print or share the result?
Use Print / Save PDF or Download text after generating a result. Printing opens your browser’s print dialog; choose Save as PDF where available. There is no public result link. A saved file may contain the names or answers you entered, so share it only with permission.
Does Lovtester store our names or answers?
No. Tool inputs stay in the open page’s memory and are not sent to Lovtester or put in cookies, local storage or a database. Reset clears the tool. Downloads, browser/device features, hosting logs and messages you deliberately email are separate; see the Privacy Policy.
