Behind the result - No mystery in the method
Each name is Unicode-normalized (NFC), trimmed, lowercased and has repeated whitespace reduced to one space. The two normalized names are sorted and joined with a vertical bar. Starting at 0, we process each Unicode code point using h = (31 × h + code point) mod 1,000,003. The displayed percentage is h mod 101, from 0% to 100%.
The same normalized pair gives the same score; swapping names does not change it. Your optional message is printed on the card but never affects the number. The formula is an arbitrary game, not a scientific model. A high or low number says nothing about anyone’s feelings.
Blank optional fields are omitted from the result and download. Entered text is displayed literally, not interpreted as HTML. All calculations happen in your browser. This tool does not store names or answers, measure real love or compatibility, assess relationship quality, or give psychological or relationship advice.

Is this a real love test?
No. It is a deterministic number game based on text. A result is not evidence, a prediction or a reason to make a relationship decision.
Why do spelling changes affect the percentage?
Different letters change the code points processed by the formula. That is a text effect, not a change in your relationship. Capitalization, repeated spaces and swapping names are normalized away.
Can I print or share the result?
Use Print / Save PDF or Download text after generating a result. Printing opens your browser’s print dialog; choose Save as PDF where available. There is no public result link. A saved file may contain the names or answers you entered, so share it only with permission.
Does Lovtester store our names or answers?
No. Tool inputs stay in the open page’s memory and are not sent to Lovtester or put in cookies, local storage or a database. Reset clears the tool. Downloads, browser/device features, hosting logs and messages you deliberately email are separate; see the Privacy Policy.
